Review:

It's a wonderful poster. The cool blues and blacks blend effortlessly to create a striking image that isn't overzealous or treacly.

  • Trailer: C; C+

Review:

More a teaser than anything, this trailer suggests at least strong production values and a clear indication that it wants to pick up the Harry Potter aud before they desert the cineplex after that series' final films.

Giving the audience more of a concept of the plot of the film, and of course revealing enough to tell everything that's going on, the trailer does support strong visual effects, but not-so-strong performances.

Oscar Prospects:

Chris Columbus' first Harry Potter film earned earned 3 Oscar nominations (Art Direction, Costume Design and Original Score) and I could see this film following at least a similar trajectory.
