A French class assignment turns into an orphan's exploration of the demise of his parents, reinvited through a story about a terrorist planting a bomb in his wife's luggage.
Bright, plain and unspeakably boring. There's also no real comparative reason for the exclusion of scenes from the trailer or even thematical connective relavance.
This fascinating examination of one kid's glossy admiration of his father's militant religiosity make for a most intriguing story. Looking into the lives and beliefs of other religions, even those with a violent mentality often helps us understand the world around us and this film looks like it could be a great analysis of that subject.
A serious film releasing early in the year will undoubtedly suffer come Oscar nomination time. However, were it releasing closer to the end of the year, it might be a considerable contender.
I have not seen this film.
