Preview: The Visitor (2008)

Poster: F

Review:

A placeholder. Enough said.

Trailer: B+

Review:

It's clear from this trailer that Tom McCarthy, director of The Station Agent, may very well be one of our most interesting new talents. Station Agent was his first film and The Visitor is his second, but the subtlty and tenderness with which the film is presented in this trailer suggests a potentially engaging film.

Oscar Prospects:

The Station Agent didn't get nearly enough attention. It didn't even get a screenwriting Oscar nomination. It was tragic because it was an endearing little film. If the film turns out to be as good as the trailer suggests, I'm hopeful that critics will join the bandwagon and push this film into the spotlight for recognition.

Release Date:
