Preview: Paranoid Park (2008)

Poster: B-

Review:

While the poster is stylish, there's very little substance and the kid on the poster might attract fellow skateboarders to the flick, but it's doubtful it will lure anyone else.

Trailer: B-

Review:

Gus Van Sant is a talented director and I'm sure there's more subtext than what we see in the preview, but it's clear those who cobbled this together weren't certain how to sell it to middle America while holding onto the niche audience that's more likely to see it. In both counts, it may have failed.

Oscar Prospects:

The Oscars have never recognized Gus Van Sant and I don't think that's going to change with this film.

Release Date:

March 7, 2008

Synopsis Review:

I have not seen this film.
