Preview: Where in the World Is Osama bin Laden (2008)

Poster: A

Review:

Morgan Spurlock is nothing if not clever. While using the Carmen Sandiego title against the adventurous background of an Indiana Jones poster spoof, this is one of the year's better entries so far. It pays homage to Raiders while making a comment on the film's humorous exploration of an unhumorous subject.

Trailer: B

Review:

Morgan Spurlock's style of humor is certainly infectuous. While the ultimate result of the documentary may just be to shine a light on how poorly the Bush administration has conducted the search for the infamous Al'Qaeda leader. There may be more to it, but the trailer doesn't really give us any hints.

Oscar Prospects:

It's not likely this documentary will make it to the short list for the Academy Award. It just seems too "humor" based, but the documentary branch has done some exemplary work in choosing films in recent years, so it could actually make it.
