I can't really see a purpose to this trailer other than it shows us a more detailed vision of the "O" in the title. The sandy color is fitting, but the image is generally lifeless.
The psychological destructiveness of soldiers at war. It's the kind of film that might be good, but could easily be schmaltzy and overly-sentimental. The trailer doesn't tell us much about the film's ultimate outcome and seems to be treading a fine line between the two extremes.
It's nominated for the 2007 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. It has stiff competition from WWII Jewish exploitation film The Counterfeiters to contend with. It could win, but whether it does or does not, it won't be considered the right choice by most critics.
I have not seen this film.
