Uma Thurman hasn't been able to sell a film she's been a part of since Kill Bill. Her appearance in My Super Ex-Girlfriend was a joke and that she takes center position on the poster. It may be appropriate considering the premise of the film, but it's hardly a selling point, especially when surrounded by unpleasant blues and bland detail.
Thurman's track record is just not that great. Although I loved her in Kill Bill, I've been severely disappointed in her ability to ham up every scene she's in. There's some strange similarities to Dolly Parton's Straight Talk here, except that film didn't feature the silly and unlikely plot device of a quickly-altered marriage certificate.
Slight romantic comedy. Early release. It hasn't got a prayer.
I have not seen this film.
