Preview: Black Snake Moan (2007)

Poster: B-; C+

Review:

The posters belie the film's strange subject matter. While each of the two invoke comic book styles the top one yields a little more visual panache.; The second focuses mainly on Christina Ricci hoping to capture the minds of male audiences.
Trailer: D-

Review:

What an absolutely stupid concept for a film. The preview makes this film seem like some back woods religious hack film. Christina Ricci's a talented actress, but I don't see how she could possibly choose something so hideous to attach herself to.

Oscar Prospects:

There isn't a chance that this kind of picture will figure into the Oscars. It's too much and simultaneously too little the more recent style of Quentin Tarantino to earn recognition.

Release Date:

March 2, 2007

Synopsis Review:

I have not seen this film.
