Preview: Black Irish (2007)

Poster: C+

Review:

The event photo theme has been done to death and the depressed visage that dominates the poster won't easily entice people into the film and there's only one, partially-hidden image that belies the film's setting.

Review:

Looking like a kin to The Greatest Game Ever Played. Aside from the switch in sports milieus (from golf to baseball), the two films even share leads with similar "looks". The film looks a lot like the other period sports films that have come out in the past.

Oscar Prospects:

The Greatest Game Ever Played never managed to pull of a cross-genre appeal and land Oscar noms. I don't see much success for this film either.

Release Date:

October 26, 2007

Synopsis Review:

I have not seen this film.
