Preview: Close to Home (2007)

Poster: A-

Review:

Simple. Evocative. Ordinarily, something so limited would immediately turn me off, but this poster captures the hope of a new day, the sorrow of the present and the premise of the film without having to be glossy or showy.
Trailer: B+

Review:

The strongest previews are for films without big names. Close to Home appears to be an intimate look at the lives of female soldiers in Israel where they are forced to serve by the government and deal with issues forced upon them by their environment. The film looks interesting and could be a popular film with critics.

Oscar Prospects:

Submitted to the Oscar competition last year as foreign film, a release this year alongside critical support could put it into competition but that seems somewhat unlikely.

Release Date:

February 14, 2007

Synopsis Review:

I have not seen this film.
